    Posted: 14 April 2025 at 09:29
We have recently sold our Hanse 355 (fantastic boat , 7 years of trouble free cruising in NZ) and took ownership of a 2014 445 (#210) this weekend.

We are taking her offshore to the South Pacific Islands and the first major project is the design and install of an integrated dinghy, solar and wind davit structure. Has anyone on this forum installed one on their 445 or 455? Any information on where I can source a design would be greatly appreciated (I can get one designed from scratch but if I don’t need to reinvent the wheel I won’t)

Thanks in advance
Matt

We have a custom one. The previous owner had it done.   I think davits were an afterthought and we have had some issues with the weld/integrity.   It is really nice to have the extra shade on the transom.

We have looked at Kato Marine and got good testimonials from Hanse owners… but this is just a davit system.

Atlantic Towers has what looks like a great off the shelf system. https://www.atlantictowers.com/products_super_sail_arch.php it was recommended to us by a boatyard when they turned down the repair of our davits.  The price seems reasonable.

Not sure where in NZ you are but I saw a nice setup on a 455 "In the Blue" at Marsden Cove. Windcraft know who made it.
I am looking for one for my 460.

This is not a rehearsal. Go for it. Kiakaha

Update: we got a good deal on some Simpson Davits and had those installed on the transom.  They swing and are removable.
