Topic: Broken Stanchion BasePosted: 22 June 2025 at 17:22 |

Hello everyone, The stanchion base behind the toilet broke at the screw, I will need to unscrew it and replace the stanchion base. Removing the screw by itself will be tricky, but I guess the biggest question is where can I order a new stanchion base? Does anyone know the company that manufactures them? Tips on how to remove the existing screw and how to add the new one (i.e. which sealant to use) are appreciated as well, but it's really the ordering part that is bothering me the most. Thanks in advance. Best, Joao

Short update: I ordered this, but doesn't seem to be exactly correct since it is missing a hole for a screw on the stanchion pole.

I’m not that they have a hole. The set screw on the pole engages the V groove on the base. This prevents rotating and keeps it captive from lifting off

Hi there, thank you for your answer. Let's hope that is the case, but I'm not so hopeful. I was not able to remove the stub from inside the stanchion as I did not have time today, but I am fairly confident it's different, maybe even with the thread inside the base and not in the stanchion itself, lets wait and see. What you ordered is for sure the correct part for the H415. I would be stunned if it would be different on the H385. As said, the set screw goes into the ridge in the part your ordered.

We broke a stanchion base during an Atlantic crossing. I had two spares from when we added a solar panel arch and removed two stanchions. But found the one we broke was different to the pushpit stanchion bases. I had the broken one welded back together - the threaded bar broke off the base which was welded in the first place. One both of ours there is a threaded hole completely through the base for the stanchion to attach.
