Topic: Water and Fuel Tank calibrationPosted: 17 July 2024 at 12:08 |

I have measured some calibration points of the two tanks.
Maybe some other users can add more datas, especially of the fuel tank?! Water: Sensor: SH220 [0412] 1 Capacity: 450 Liter 0-209L: 3-4 Ohm (it can‘t measure <210L) 210L: 17 Ohm 250L: 44 Ohm 300L: 71 Ohm 350L: 112 Ohm 400L: 159 Ohm 425L: 178 Ohm (maximum, it can‘t measure >425L) Fuel: Sensor: SH220 [0412] 3 Capacity: 200 Liter 115L: 151 Ohm The datas of the water tank shows, that the sensor is able to measure from 210-425L. It‘s a range of 215L (47,8%) from a 450L tank. Bad, what Hanse is selling at this point… Edited by mr-ludi - 17 July 2024 at 12:11 |

We have the same problem on our 460 for over a year. Our agent is talking to Hanse about a fix but they think it is not possible for the water as the tank is on a slope and not even size. We show 30% water when there is actually 70%. This is a major problem when we have others on board as we have no idea about water levels. We are going to try a different sensor maybe using pressure not probes or else a sight tube so we can see the level.

https://wema.co.uk/products/ Fuel is not a problem as we work off engine hours at 5 litres per hour average. Very disappointing responses from Hanse on this and the anchor chain buildup problems. |

This is not a rehearsal. Go for it. Kiakaha

I don’t have that problem. Our sensor/tank combination works well between 215L and 425L (48% to 94%). But if we have less than 215L, the sensor can‘t measure it any more.

It sounds like the sensor is too short. They come in different lengths. From memory my 458 with a 450l tank has either 30 or 35cm sensor.
The original supplied by Hanse failed in my 3rd season however the €40(?) drop in replacement has proved much more accurate. The original showed 100% until about 60% usage when it started measuring correctly (but obviously based on just the 69% volume.)

I measured my fuel data by checking the ohm number before refueling and counting the liters from full tank. Did you do the same? My display was configured by 210L capacity. But all specifications for the H460 are showing a fuel capacity of 200L. What is correct?

Yes I did the same. I don't know which is correct. The documentation mentions both 200 and 210 litres and my dealer doesn't know the answer.

If we trust in the documentation, it‘s a 200L tank. This would meand we have
151 ohm @ 115L 171 ohm @ 130L For me it looks time the sensor will reach the maximum of 191 ohm much earlier than @ 200L… 🙄 I will try to refill as slow as possible next time and get more datas.

458 has a 210l diesel tank. Maybe some documents didn't get corrected for 460?

I think it‘s the opposite. I haven‘t seen any document showing 210L for the 460. The only reason to think about 210L is the display, which shows a maximum volume of 210L. Maybe the display is copied from the 458?!
