My GoFree modem which is located behind the chart plotter has stopped working. The unit has been discontinued. Has anyone fitted a replacement or an alternative means of broadcasting the chartplotter to a tablet or phone ?

B&G Zeus chartplotters can do it via their local WiFi,  download B&G app and connect your phone or tablet to it

Likewise Raymarine.  However, as a backup I have this too -   NMEA 2000 to WiFi Gateway | W2K-1 | Actisense NMEA Specialist.   As well as the chartplotter, I run a laptop with a dedicated GPS dongle and an iPad both connected to the Gateway but running separate chart programs.  As well as providing layered backups, the iPad records an electronic log of the voyage and the laptop provides the fastest means of reworking the options should conditions change, especially as it can quickly be connected to the web through 4G or Starlink.  That's far more detail than requested but hope it might be of interest Tongue

I guess this is the older B&G/SIMRAD chartplotter without integrated WiFi?

You can connect the yellow Ethernet socket on your plotter to a standard Ethernet router via an adaptor cable either from B&G/SIMRAD or you can make the adaptor cable yourself; loads of information on the internet.

We had mixed success with this however with some routers working fine and others being completely overwhelmed by the volume of data.
