Topic: Water underneath the anchor lockerPosted: 02 April 2008 at 22:00 |

Hello,
We had water in the closed space underneath the anchor locker. We made some small holes in the bulkhead so that the water can flow into the space underneath the beds in the front cabin. We also re-did the inside of the bottom of the anchor locker to seal any holes.
However, still a little bit of water drops down the area below the anchor locker. Has anyone else had this problem?
Cheers,
Michiel

Michiel,
this is strange as on my H411, the anchor locker just goes right down to the bottom of hull, with no floor boarding,
i do conceed that it makes it very deep, but great to store the chaine and fenders,
and the water should drain through the drainage hole on the side?

Strange. So you dont have a flat bottum plate?
My anchor locker is also very deep but it still has a little section below it which was completely sealed off. We have opened it to let the water go out.
Cheers
Michiel

i don't have what one would call a flat bottom plate or floor board,
it doesn't go right down to the bow point, but perhaps until it's 10cm wide, then glassed off , at level of drainage hole.
just wondering if this plate of yours was added on after construction,?
what year was yours built, mine was last off the line #244 delivered april 2006.

Our boat was build in 2004 (#161) and has apparently a different anchor locker.
I doubt that the leakage comes from the anchor locker since the bottom plate has just been done and looks completely sealed. However, I don't know any other options.
I am going to take a closer look this weekend and make lot's of pictures.
Cheers,

Ok, I have poured lot's of water in the anchor locker and I don't see any water coming in. I have the feeling the water is coming from somewhere else but I have no clue where. When sailing at see I have 1-2 buckets of water coming from below the anchor locker.
Any one any suggestions where the water might be coming from? |

Hi Samba
We had the same problem on our 370 the water was coming in through the hull deck joint under and around the bow roller David

Hallo All On our 370 we also keep getting water in the space under the ancher locker.
An expert who has checkes all the boat for some more failers sayd it came frome the foot of the bow railing points wich does not have enough side suport so the sealant between the deck and railing will move and so at our boat it keeps leeking.
Greetings Marcel

When you mention "under the anchor locker", from where can you see this?, from under forward berths?, or under forward cabin floorboards?

Thanks for all the replies. I will check this weekend the bow roller and railing. And also the drain holes (see the 371 post)
I can see this from underneath the front beds. Edited by samba - 01 May 2008 at 12:25 |
