I wanted to add a new catagory so that 411 owners like myself could post information about equipment and design issues. Sometimes it is helpful to know what fixes and workarounds are available. Being a new boat, there is not a lot of history out there. Here are a couple of things I have discovered:

The there is a hose off the vented loop that runs off the top of the engine that should be re-routed so that it goes UP to the transom NOT down into the bilge. THis is not a very big deal but could save a lot of problems down the road.

Owners should ask their dealers to move the strainer on this engine. It is positioned too high for servicing- and while at it, it would be a good idea to replace the vinyl hose barbs  on the intake hose that lead to the raw water pump with molded-bend, reinforced water hose.

Has anyone experienced a problem with a leak from the hull deck joint in the port aft cockpit locker?

ANy ideas about how to better insulate the refrigeration box?

For the refrigerationbox it seems a good idea to insulate the bottom with some insulationmaterial. This should help a lot and is very easy to DIY... You don't have to insulate the sides of the box.

Good luck!

Many thanks for comments on insulating the refrigeration box. I came across a product that might meet the bill. 1" rigid insulation with very high R value known as Vacupack. It is probably available as a non-marine product for less money somewhere. I may insulate the sides to some extent as well depending on how well a simple bottom panel does. See this link for product info http://www.oceanoptions.com/vpanel/vpanl.htm

tbb marine -1,

Hi. I have the only 411 in Australia and have used this site a few times but I agree; the 411 seems to lack owners! I have had FREYA since late December and have worked through a number of issues.

It is late here now but I would like to establish a proper 411 forum. I tried two months ago but found only "gioiablu" in Menton Sth France on line. A new boat arrived in New Zealand only two weeks ago.

I will reply properly on the weekend but my fridge is not great either. A 371  owner has suggested a white plastic chopping board affixed to the lid might help but I have not tried it yet.

Back to you soon
