We have the very shiny cherry wood on the inside of the boat. Has anyone any ideas as to where we can get a touch up varnish that matches.

Jon,

Are you sure you have the Cherry wood? I was not aware that any 371's came with it - only the reddish mahogany finish.

I think you may be right,

it is red and probably is mahogany.

I believe that any good marine varnish will closely match the interior if you start with a solid honduras mahogany stock or brunzeel mahog plywood and the surface is prepared and sanded well. The secret is to use enough coats and to sand and prep well between each.

Thanks for that, however I was hoping someone would know the exact colour of varnish or manufacturers number.

Hi,

Hanse uses a maghony plywood and aply a staincolour on this. A hanse owner in Holland has succeed in to mixe the right colour of the stain.

The brand is CLOU, it is a german paintingfabrik , Alfred Clouth in Offenbach/Main

To get the right colour he mixed 3 colours of waterbased stain.

Orange, colournumber 153 , 5 parts, Brown colournumber 156 . 1 part, and Red clournumber 154, 0,5part

To finish it he used 5 layers of polyurethanvarnish
