Does anyone have measurements on the rope lengths for the running rig (Hanse 311, 312 or 315)?

I am about to renew the ropes/halyard for headsail and mainsail with spectra ropes.

I can't remember the lengths when I replaced my halyards but I hoisted a measuring tape to the top of the mast and I believe on my 312 it was 12.6 metres from the base of the mast to the main halyard sheave. The rest is across the deck so can be measured easily.

Hope this helps.

Regards
Alan

Owing to a breakdown in communication with my rigger I have accidentally had my main halliard replaced even though it was only 8 Months old
it is Dynema 12 mm diameter manufactured by Lyros I believe
If the rigger does not take it back it will be up for sale in a couple of weeks
I will also have the length of the halliards for you when I get the old ones back from the rigger in a few days-
My boat is a 311

Hey,

I just replaced the running ropes at my 315 last season. I measured the length with some reserve and all ropes are forwarded to the cockpit.

Main, Fock and Gennaker 34 m
Reff 1 23m
Reff 2 32m
Dirk 34m (second main)
vang 14m
outhaul 11m

Please take my measures as an indication.

Greetings

Piet

Thanks for the many replies.

1. Does anyone of you knows how long the rope is, which is used to control the self tacking jib?
-
Currently I only have polyester rope as mainsail halyard which is 12mm with a breaking strength of approx. 3300 kg.
It is hard to hoist the mainsail because there is hardly room for 12mm through all the turns and Deck Organizers.

I therefore plan to switch to 10 mm rope with a core of dynemaa which has a tensile strength of 3400 kg.

Though I'm in Denmark, the prices are better in Germany and I want to buy online.

The best price so far is at Hamburger Tauwerk Factory.
Available:http://htf-hh.com/eshop/de/Tauwerk-jeglicher-Art/Fallen-und-Schoten/Liros-Dynamic-Plus-/-5-14mm-
to 3.72 Euro exclusive of freight.

2.
Does anyone know of a better place to buy the ropes?

greetings
H8jer

I have change all my running rig to 8mm dynama and i use the lenght 35m each. this is a little too long.
i have use the store and the product from
and the price is 20,00 Dkr. whic is a fair price.
Also the reef system is change to 8mm, and now it is very easy too use, i can nearly use whitout using winch

Now I've measured the diameter of the ropes and they prove to be 10 mm and not 12 mm as I thought.
On Hanse 311 you have to steer the self-tacking jib with the same rope as the spinnaker boom lift.
The boat was not rigged for using Spinnaker or jib when I bought it.
The boat had a 130% or 140% genoa but because of the children we would now enjoy sailing with a jib.
But I still do not know the length of the rope to control the jib. The rope should initially be with 2:1 exchange between jib and block on the rail.
On a Hanse 320 the jib sheet is around. 25 meters.

Is there anyone who knows the length of the Jib sheet?

Ole Østergaard isn't 8 mm too thin or is it ok?
I've emailed the Netbaad.com shop about the brand and breaking strength of their product.

Greetings H8jer

About the thikness, the only problem i think about is: it can be difficult to hold the line in hand compare 10 or 12mm lines. the lines is strong enough, and the lines in the reef system goes vere smouth, now. thies reef line is only sirius rope.  I can reef nearly complete only with hand.

Here is a point forum member may wish to think about
I looked at H8jer's link for Liros dynema rope
I notice cost of 3.72 euros
When my local chandler ( owned by a family friend so i usually get a good deal) quoted at least 60% more I sent him the link
He made the following email reply:-

Hi Sam

I have done some research today because I couldn't understand the major price difference in the Dyneema I quoted. I am well aware of lots & lots of different dynemma products on the market & Liros themselves make many different versions.

The main difference I could find is that the breaking strains as follows therefore different amounts of dyneema in the product,

 Liros breaking strain 3400kg

 Maffioli strain 4650kg

This will also be relative to any stretch etc

It's not sour grapes for not getting the order, but generally with such a major difference there are reasons & I thought you may wish to know as I did.

At the London boatshow I was offered  adynema with the quote " quite a bit of stretch to start with but will settle down after a while"
It seems they laced the dynema with polyester to reduce cost
Perhaps that is why Liros dynema is so much cheaper
How on earth is one supposed to know what one is buying when paying through the nose for this product

Quality costs, of course ...

My need is cruising only and the meaning is that the new rope is to replace the old polyester rope with a lot less breaking strength.
Therefore I can easily settle with 3400kg.

If you want better quality Liros have a better version.
