Does anyone have experience with autopilot for the 371 ? WP32(wheelpilot) vs AP22(Linear pilot) ?

I have the WP30 on my 371. It works fine - also, it is attached to the folding Lewmar wheel. I consider the WP suitable for light duty use. If you will be using the pilot for long distance cruising the AP is perhaps better.

We have the WP32 on our 371 -  managed some rather confused seas end of last year with no problems

We have had the WP30 for 3 hard seasons and although we have had to replace the two toothed belts it works well.

It is very useful in light conditions at all point of sail, and good running or broad reaching in most conditions. It will not work well in heavy seas at any acute angles and will overload.

We have one of these and use a monitor windvane for any long passages. It is accurate, a joy to use and uses no power!

It costs less than an electronic pilot and is easy to service. We can highly reccommend the combination.

Doesnt the windvane get in the way if you wanna go for a swim ? or can you swing(move) it sideways ?
