Hello,
I am not sure which forum I should be on , race, chitchat or 370; so to anyone who cares please move me if appropriate.
Gertha 4 a hanse 370 from 2006 is playing in this years Azores and back race.
We will be two up , leave Falmouth 1pm local time on June 4th , race to Azores aprox 1200 miles stop and drink beer.
Return starts June 22nd ish 1200 miles back.
We will get the blog going on http://blog.mailasail.com/gertha4 for anyone wanting to read my moans.
The AZAB sight is www.azab2011.co.uk which has a link to anyone wishing to watch our progress against the over boats.

Stay safe and have a very enjoyable trip, Simon. Did I understand you correctly that it is you plus one other onboard?

Did you have to do very much to the boat for this trip?

Sitting in bar at marina in san miguel , cold beer , warm weather.
Whilst trip out was no record breaker, Gertha performed well , most of the boats above us were striped out racing machines with polished hulls and mad crews.
If there was a class for fast cruisers who race with cooked meals and showers, not boil in the bag and wet whipes, Gertha would be top or nearly top.
Another small factor is the rating system that I do not understand and Hanse are not designed to get best from.
Return trip starts on Tuesday looks like flat calm for two days. Before winds kick in on thursday. Could be a lot of luck in first two days.
The Azores are lovly islands well worth a visit.
