Hi all,
just signed in again as a new member, somehow I can't login under the old member 'Adrian'. Since Easter 2011 I am enjoying sailing our 375 (#805, RAL 7043, 'Vertigo')
I do have one question for the Selden sail slides, we experienced that 4 slides did breake (not all same time!) when sailing, as the screws came loose at the plastic connection to the mainsail which then opened and
lost connection to the main sail. Once they broke out, you can't fasten them again so we tried with loctite and this worked so far except one.
We will get these changed now via Hanse (I was promised to receive them with larger screws) but I wonder if there is any other solution to it?
The experience while sailing at BF 5-6 and seeing that the main is getting loose is enough once for me...
Do you guys have any suggestions? Appreciate your help in this matter
Thks/brgds

I had the same issue with my H355. When I took first reef the slide shackle just close to the reef point broke by the screw. I've put a larger screw.
My issue was due to "tensoning" the reef line. It pulls too hard down on the slides as the 3 bottom slides cannot go further down than mast entry (I have Selden Mast). The reef point needs to be tighten down so there more pressure down on the slides. I'm looking for a solution. May be I should have one slide less. Anyway I'm thinking about a swap for Selden's MDS slides as the mast is made for these. So me be with one slide less at the bottom the problem will be solved. |

Hi Adrian,
I have H375/571 which I think is the first delivered one. We have had problems with the echo sounder since the boat was new in a way similar to what you describe. In our case the reason was that the sounder/sender device/ was misplaced so the keel bulb reflected and distorted the signal. To this season we mounted a new sounder inside the hull a which worked well almost all time. However - now the first sounder has to be replaced with another one that does NOT send the echo (and hence not disturbs the new sounder). It has only speed and temperature. We look forward to have it working . (Other plausible errors can be a defect sounder - a known problem to Simrad and Airmar -which has been changed - and/or old software which has been updated). Re table we conclude that it, in our boat, was weakly attached/ mounted. (as the battery box + the drawer) The screws into board does not give enough strength. Also you can not inspect or clean all areas below the floor and it eventually will develop into something smelly. We rebuilt it all Despite this we think it is a marvelous boat and design. Some improvements and it becomes fantastic! Regards / Hans sailing SWE571 Ad lib |

Hi - we had the same issue with 5 of our main sail car slides on our new 400 (discovered at the start line of a long distance race of course!). We tied the cars to the main sails with thin, strong line to get through the race (worked quite well actually). Our dealer then solved the issue very quickly by simply putting in larger screws (exactly as you mention above). We've just come back from a 400 nm trip and have had no issues since the larger screws were inserted. Good luck! |

Hi Bruno, that sounds as a good explanation. A swap for the MDS might be a solution, I will try first the solution Evenstar confirmed. Thanks guys! @Hans: the position of our sender device should be fine, I shall have a Simrad technician on board hopefully this Saturday and will discuss further. Looking forward to have the AP24 working correctly
Regarding the floor, I see what you are referring to, but could you explain more what you rebuilt (the whole floor?)? Do you have a picture too?

Vertigo,I do have the same problems with the simrad equipment. Everything is solved after an update of the software, except the loss of the position on the NX40. When you have got a solution from simrad, please let us know. I'm still in a discussion with Hanse for a solution.
Already 3000 NM with less problems. My 375 is from september 2009. |

I had also a problem with my NX45 loosing the GPS Fix. The solution was a new AT40 Box since the GPS Antenna is connected with Simnet. You can check this in your IS20 when you go to the GPS position: The Simnet still has the position but not the NX because of a failure in the AT40. With exchanging the Box the problem is solved.
