I am sure this has been covered before, but I am looking to replace my main interior lights on my 301. I need to get them in the next week or so and I cannot remember the bulb fittings for the centre light and as my 301 is 7 to 8 hrs drive away, can anybody help where i can get them from in the UK and what kind to order.
Cheers.
Dave

I have found a company called Ultra Leds, I think this has been mentioned before on here, and I think in the Halogen spots it is a G4 fitting, but what is the fitting for the centre light, is it a 42mm 37 mm or a 31mm bulb?
What LED bulbs have been used for the G4 fitting?
Cheers.

Holby,
I have order LED light bulbs from Hjertmans Sweden. Three models (5441-414, 5441-415, 5441-417) with G4 type fitting were used, diameters 30 and 31mm fitted well to our 2005 model lights. Markku

Markku,
Thanks, but out of interest what is the size of the bulb for the centre light, for example 5441-511 (38mm) or 5441-512 (42mm) or 5441-514 (43mm)
Cheers.

Dave
For my 370 ceiling lights (and the bedroom directional lights) I've got LED bulbs from China and Ireland off eBay. Alas eBay does not keep a good record of my older purchases but I think the following may help you (I think they are the right ones): For the galley area I used this bulb. It is sold as Warm White, but is quite "harsh" and good for the galley area For the main cabin and other ceiling lights I used true warm whites These were from future_leds on eBay but they currently dont list them (purchased prior to the 2010 season) For the cabin directional lights I used true warm whites All have been in for some time and have lasted well. They are so cheap that you can afford to throw them away without really thinking about it. They look well made and I don't have any concerns about the circuit degrading etc. Some of the G4 circular bulbs fit better than others (a diameter issue). Where they have been a little too large I've trimmed the connection legs for a better fit. They are not as good as the origional halogen, but the trade off of wriggly amps against light is worth it. Get at least 2W if you can, but diameter is probably the limiting factor. If you are going to do it really well then a 12V LED driver would be sensible to smooth the supply. I've not instaleld one and had no problems, but probably will put something in over the winter to smooth all the lighting and other vulnerable 12V circuits (phone chargers and TV 12V supply) to protect them from voltage spikes. I've also replaced my running lights with LED from Seawolf. They seem OK, but the stern light is a little "blue" but apparently is OK for use. The reason I replaced them was corrosion of the light fittings and supply cables. A nightmare to replace the cables but the fittings cleaned up easily... Hope this helps.

Please take a look at my post here.:
Led Light This is what works in my 312, build 2004. Maybe it is not that different from yours. |
