Great to see this site taking shape: owning a Hanse 300 is so far (4 days now!) proving to be a fine experience - thanks to Peter at Hanse Hamble and Yvonne at YZG. Look forward to chat re the 300 with other owners, particularly UK. New Rose (ours) wil be based in Dartmouth.

Hi Mark, Congrats on the new 300. I have owned a 301 for a couple of seasons and am now in the process of trading up to a 371 which is due in a few weeks. The 300 is a lovely boat to sail and I am sure you will have a lot of fun. I have had a lot of great adventures in my 301. Wonderful boat. Whereabouts in Dartmouth is New Rose based? Was in Dart earlier this year after a superb trip from Southampton to Brest and back via Plymouth, Salcombe and Dartmouth. Will have to look you up next time I'm in the Dart - this time with the new 371 ... Anything you want to know about the 300 I might be able to help with let me know. Marcus |

Hi Marcus
Thanks for your message - will certainly call on you as questions arise - we'll be on Noss-on-Dart river moorings from next March. (Sailing her from S'oton - with a delivery skipper for our first 'big' trip) |

Hi Mark I also took delivery of a new 300 in April this year and have had a great first season with it in the Poole Bay area. Mainly singlehanded which I have found the 300 particularly suited to. Managed to get in about 600nm and will be sailing through the winter. I have the extras of a genoa and the winches so have been able to test just about every combination of sail/reef in the complete spectrum of winds we seem to have had. Happy to pass on any experiences. Epslion (name of boat)

Epsilon - winter sailing sounds good, particularly if present 'autumnal' weather holds (though I guess it won't) - we won't be joining you as New Rose is the display boat at Hamble Point, on the hard. For now I am making do with Griff Rhys Jones's book, 'To the Baltic with Bob' - quite entertaining!

Hi Mark, I took delivery of my 300 in March 2003 (Cutty Stark) She is moored on the Severn Estury and Cruised/Raced on the Bristol Channel. Having great fun getting to know her. Interested in comparing notes

Hello. Our boat is the Hanse demo at Hamble Point until April, so we still
haven't launched! Have spent a few pleasant afternoons sitting aboard in their yard though..! Look fwd to comparing notes, New Rose will be based in Dartmouth. |

Hi everybody! I own a 292 (the former model of 300) and I sail on the North Adriatic Sea. I really love this boat, it's very strong and very fast for the size, especially now with a new main sail in CL and genoa in kevlar. I sail with my wife and with my little baby (2 years old). If you saw a red 292 in the Adriatic Sea it's probably our Rubin. bye for now. Claudio |

Just got back from my first trip in New Rose, our 300, from Hamble to Dartmouth - brilliant, S/SE F3-5s... How do you sail with your baby?! Do you strap its chair to the chart table?! |
