have two problems which may be related. It seems that the light over the cooker, that is the one on the right facing forward as you descend the steps, is on a different circuit to the other lights, ie it is switched a the panel but is always powered. Well, we cannot now get this light working. Does anybody know where it might be fused?

At the same time, the fuel and water gauges on the instrument panel are not working. Can anyboy

a/ offer a solution to this

b/ tell me the name of the manufacturer.

The light is connected directly to your battery with a "flying" fuse somewhere behind the door at the nav table.

The panel and the gauges are from Calira.

This was useful information for me too.

Since this light bypasses all main power switches, I will replace it with LED light right away.

(Just in case one of the other family members forget to switch it off..., then I might discover it before the battery is fully drained...)

Fot the other lights, I will wait until the existing bulb burns out and then replace the complete light armature with the new LED-version.

I have a lot of LED bulbs which had 1 season of use before the boat was wrecked by a tornado last October in Greece when ashore for the winter. I stripped the boat of lots of equipment afterwards including all the LED's. If you are interested they are available at low cost plus shipping. There are bulbs for ceiling & Nav lights.

I have replaced roof-lights with these new LED armatures. (But keeping the frosted glass instead of the plastic-glass that are following the new ones). Have replaced 4 so far and have 9 to go... I may replace one or two each year to spread expenses...

I finally found the "flying fuse" for the permanent connected light:

Well hidden under the cables from main switches. There were 2 fuses there. One of them connected to the start-battery switch. Anyone who have found out what this one goes to?

I also have 2 other "flying fuses" behing here:

Anyone who may give some information about these? One yellow and one red connected to a relay.

Yes, the relay was for the exhaust fan in the engine room. On the wire coming from the generator to the relay, I had to replace a blown fuse well hidden in the engine room. Then dismantle the relay and bend the spring within it a little. Now the Fan is finally blowing.

But the previous owner have replaced the original fan with a small cheap "turbo-blower" one that makes more noise than the engine. Will have to search for a larger and more quiet one....

Tracing of the other fuses and wires might be some nice winter-work... :-)

I found that the noise was really amplified by the aft bulkhead. I put a rubber connector in place and it really made it a lot quieter.

I did it like this

Piece of sidewall from an old car tyre. connected the fan with nuts and bolts to the rubber, then connected the rubber to the bulkhead. Works really well and low cost. Smile

Are you talking about the fan that is:
- located in the aft locker
- screwed on the aft bulkhead on port side (below the engine control panel)
- extracting the hot air from the engine room

I changed it (was completely rusted) but it is still not running.

From your comments, it looks like there is 2 fuses for this fan:
- one in the engine room
- one in the electrical locker behind the nav seat

Is that right?
