Fresh water head on 508

   Hello,
I was wondering if anyone with a 508 with electric heads has converted them to fresh water?  

If so were you able to keep the option to switch back and forth from fresh and salt water?

	Justin, We converter our 2 original electric toilets on our 575 with Sani Marin model 32 toilets with fresh water flush. If you want to use sea water the toilet comes with a dedicated sea water pump with the associated increase in price. The fresh water flush on this model relies on the fresh water pressure system to do the flushing. So to change our toilet from fresh water flush to sea water we would need to add a dedicated sea water pump to each toilet. We left one toilet completely manual sea water flush as supplied by Hanse. The Sani Marin toilets have been problem free over the last 24 months of use since fitting them. We live aboard so that is 2x 365 days of use. Using fresh water to flush stops the stale sea water smell and apparently reduces the build up of calcium in the pipework.

	We built our 575 and kept the standard manual sea water flush heads only as long as it took to get the boat. Never used them. Once we got it we had the heads converted to electric fresh water heads (TECMA EasyFit). You hook it to the fresh water system and have a choice as to whether you add to the misery of the WURTH panel or create its own 12V panel. I did the latter. I used the salt water intake for my watermaker (the heads use water from your pressure system but also have a dry flush capability). Between the washer/dryer, the fresh water heads, and the dishwasher, we thought a watermaker made sense. So far the TECMA have been problem free, and they are entirely self-contained. I had a Vacuflush setup on our prior boat and those have separate tanks and were more problematic

	my intention would be to keep the same head in place and use a solenoid and some plumbing to select between fresh and salt water. Has anyone kept their existing head and switched to fresh?
