I'm looking to replace the 460 anchor with either an Excel or Spade. Both one size up from the supplied Delta. Does anyone have experience of changing anchors they can share?  Thanks

The most thorough - by far - anchor testing has been done by Steve Goodwin.  Have a look at (976) SV Panope - YouTube  for tests of just about all types and weights in varying sea-beds.  The ones where he directly tests different types together might be particularly helpful to you.

Even this though doesn't substitute completely for experience, yet I'm wary of opinions on anchors from anyone who hasn't overnighted on anchor many hundreds of times in different areas.

Hi. Yes your analysis is fine and I've been through Panope videos. It's finding which good anchor  sits best on a 460 roller that's perhaps the real question...

I‘m planning to replace the anchor by „Vulcan Rocna“ with 33kg. But I don‘t have my 460 yet, so I didn‘t buy the anchor to try if it fits.

Hi, I'm thinking of changing ours to a spade. Let me know how you get on.

I've fitted a 25kg spade with no problem. A couple of custom rubber bumpers on the original ss horns hold it in place fine

Thanks for the info, could you send me some photos of your set up.

(Our dealer offered up a template, and said the 25kg spade wouldn't fit)

I have a 33 kg #6 Excel that fits and works really well.
This is not a rehearsal. Go for it. Kiakaha
