Does anyone have the model number for the 575 master cabin hatch (one of the pair aft of the forward single hatch) and its replacement screen kit? Is it the Lippert stuff? If so, its ungodly expensive. On
a sailing trip we had the screen setup basically explode and it looks beyond repair
as its not just torn but frayed with lines hanging down. If someone knows a secret to fix these, then please let me know, but I am assuming I need to replace. ![]() Edited by Black Diamond - 16 July 2025 at 20:41 |

On the 588 I believe it is the ocean air (now Dometic) product. The Pleated Skycreen.
There are some repair videos online that may help. Also less expensive than Lippert.

it's funny , because sometimes I read about issues exactly when I have them...if by hanging lines you mean thin black wires getting loose and preventing the mosquito nets to slide , it's exactly what I see since a few weeks! I still don't understand their function and how they are installed ...any clue ? I've understood how to remove the structure from the roof, but I didn't proceed yet ...

I recently replaced the two long ones in the salon.the two shaped ones aft of the be and also the one above the bed.The river foil was falling apart and the fly screen were just hanging down. After checking how they were assembled I decided to replace from boatoon. Spendy!!!

Can you put the link for Boatoon's part in here? When I looked I could not find it. I was assuming I had to take the whole thing home, put it on a work table and try to sort it out. The whole replacement unit seemed very expensive, but the parts that are problems seem easy enough to fix. I guess I won't know until I try. |

Hi Rick
The part that you are probably looking for is TBF0258.I have just checked it on Boatoon.Ordering was not straight forward I had many conversations with Sanja and waited months for my shipment.I am not sure now which of the screens that I ordered caused the problem. Best regards Duncan

I too suffer with this and found the site Arcadia pointed to a few months ago. It seems much more cost effective and faster if the frame is in working order. To get the replacement parts, it appears that I have to remove the whole unit to get the numbers that are likely printed on a surface that is concealed during installation. I stopped when I realized that it was going to need a helper to hold the frame while I unscrewed the attachment screws. Anyone complete an inventory of these for a 575/588? Mine look terrible!

I think that Rick’s hatches on the 575 are slightly different than the 588. The 575 has a bend in the forward end that needs a more custom part but it all comes from Dometic anyway. I’ve noticed that the pleated screen on the “bent” hatch lacks the guide strings that the flat ones have. This leads to an early failure of the fabric since it does not fold properly unless you are very careful.

On my 575 if we start above the bed and work aft there is 1 x flat screen TBF0253 then 2 x sloped screens TBF 0258 and then in the salon 2 x long screens TBF0257
All of my screens became an eyesore and to a certain extent unusable. Duncan
