Hi All,

Does anyone have any experience with replacing the fridge?

Is it possible without destroying the galley?

I think this will be very difficult.

What is your problem?

Hi Darren

I have mentioned this a few times to other myhansers.................................

Before asking your questions in the forum, use the search function, because maybe your question already has been answered just a month ago, and in the case of refrigerator problems, there are dozens of post from the last 15 years.

1) Search

2) Advanced Search

3) Find Posts ------change from 6 months to any date

4) Write your subject:  Refrigerator.....fridge.......coolingbox......Isotherm......Danfoss...whatever.

5) Mark "Search Forum" as "All Forums"

The links under here are from a quick search. Search and you will find much more.

It will help, if you state the exact nature of your problem with the unit.

Dismantling the very well-glued wooden items in a Hanse can be distressing, and there may be some difficulties in replacing parts which have been damaged during the work. Buying the same colour of wood may be a challenge.

The box doesn't seem to ba as cold as it should be but the Fridge its self is looking tired, which is why im thinking of total replacment.

if its a case of unscrewing the work top, removing it along with sink, fridge in and out, re assemble, i would go for it.

Also am i correct in thinking the fridge draws its power from the house batteries in 12 V when shaw power is established does the shore power take over direct or is it still through the batteries?

A fridge specialist should check the level of the cooling fluid/gas in the system. Sounds like it is not full anymore

The question about a lukewarm fridge is answered in the second link above (R134a).
As for "unscrewing/reassembling", I have been there and done that. The screws are not problematic, but the workmen have added a liberal amount of very strong glue. Good luck.
The fridge is only 12/24 V, and if you consider to read some of the links, you will discover, that there may be a problem with a voltage drop at the compressor. The Danfoss compressor is functioning poorly if the voltage is below 12,2 V. Most yachts are fed 12V to the fridge.
The fridge unit is €1259, and the transport I guess will be €500, but ask Boatoon for a quote.

As a fairly new member, you may not know, that a lot of material about H430 can be found here:

question: can the fridge be powered with 24V? If yes than why not step up to 24V at the Nav Station and limit the problem with the cable to the cooling unit?!

Hi

Probably it is too late, but I have just replaced the compressor and evaporater (cooling unit inside the fridge) on my hanse 370 from 2008.

It was not so easy but the technician did not have time.

Compressor is taken out through the closet in front of the stove.
It is only attached with 1 bolt and can slide out.

After having removed the old evaporater and compressor along with tubes. It was possible to run new tubes through the back of the fridge and into the compartment, where the compressor is.

Not a straight forward task - but I got telephone help from the technician.

The cooling unit is an isotherm BD35F like this one:  Isotherm Classic Compact 2001 køleaggregat - Køleskab og komfur (watski.dk)

Best Regards
Søren
