Top-down furler for Elvstrom Gennaker/A2?

You can buy a torsion wire and furler system from various suppliers or even local sailmaker.

We bought one from Selden and fitted the gennaker to it with out any issues.

Unless it’s one of the very new type gennekers that have the luff constructed specifically for furling then you would need a torsion rope - mine is sewn into the genneker (it’s a 2020 North Sails G zero) but I’ve seen some where small lines attach the luff to the torsion line along it’s length. In the picture below you may be able to see the white “tape” of the luff? This looks to be standard Dacron sewn in to create a tube shape that houses the torsion line. I’m sure this & a torsion line could be retrofitted to any genneker / A sail to make it furling

Has anyone tried to rig a top down furler for their Elvstrom Gennaker/A2 that came with their Hanse?  I wasn't sure if the sail needs to be specially made for furling or can I put any A2 or Gennaker on one?
