Hi Amarone
I don't understand that you have a rubber gaitor, because with self-aligning bearing, the tube is kept so tall that there would be no need for a rubber gaitor. The maintenance of a self-aligning bearing is also to pour fresh-water into the tube if the boat is to be stored on shore. So the rubber gaitor indicate an old bearing house, but jefa has a pdf with spares with the self-aligning bearings - even with different measurements... To be sure I think you would need to measure the diameter of the tube in which the lower rudder-bearing resides. Either from the seaside or by removing the rubber gaitor. Perhaps any 411 also from 2005 could help here? I think my knowledge is not sufficient. Kind Regards |

Hi Amarone
I am not able to determine which rudder setup you have from these pictures. Either there is a Aluminium RudderBearing House cast/glued into the hull or there will be a polyester/glassfiber tube with self-aligning bearing. I you remember if there is a rubber gaitor below in the aft area, then it is probably the first option you have. But a picture in of the installation in the aft compartment would clear this up.

Thank you for your answer.
I can't send a photo take because my boat is in the sea. |

Hi Amarone
Could you take some pictures of your rudderstock / gaitor? The 411 is part of the xx1 legacy models but year 2005 is quite new. I understand why Jefa and Hanse hesitate to answer you. They did partial upgrades every year so your 411 might have different setup than earlier 411's.

jefa is asking me about dimensions of the rudder bearings.
Hanse doesn't know and also asking to me. İt's strange! Hanse don't have data base of the produced boat's. |

Your rudder and bearings should be from JEFA.
