On the standard self tacker standard fixed prop and spinnaker Cutty Stark has been given a PY handicap of 1055 at my club. Swap the self tacker for the 145% Genoa and it drops to 1020. Do any of you have a club PY number or an IRC number. It would be good to compare and try to come up with a good nationally accepted figure. I look forward to reading your replys on this topic

Hi,

I have just started racing my 301 and the club is not sure of the handicap. I would be interested to hear what you have found out since you posted your email.

I have a fixed 2 blade prop, I am assuming that Enhanser has a folding one so that together with the sail size difference probably puts us on track.

I have discovered that the Spinnaker makes all the difference. Cutty Stark is clearly set up to go fast offwind and hammers her handicap when its up. I struggle to maintain handicap on the wind but overall it works out fine.

So on courses with small Spinnaker legs I struggle and on courses with long ones I Fly.

Regards
