In the Hanse newsletter, which I got last Friday, I read the following:

"Nick Black, 29, worked for Windcraft, the Australian HANSE dealer in Sydney for several years. Now he wants to go sailing himself! His adventure began at 4:00 p.m. on July 13th 2012 (yes, a Friday!) at the boatyard in Greifswald. Nick (see photo) and his four-strong crew (two friends plus mum Fran and dad John) let go the lines. A whole month was spent preparing the HANSE 445, called "Charm Offensive", for the big trip with the help of the shipyard and local chandler Wendel & Rados. Nick Black has set aside more than a year for the trip "down under" and will be accompanied by different crews. Some of the trip is intended to be very relaxed, other parts more sporty. The first leg of the route: Denmark, the North Sea (with Amsterdam), the English Channel, Portugal, France and the Canary Islands, where the "Charm Offensive" will take part in the ARC Cruising Regatta on November 25th 2012. Distance: 2700 nautical miles, destination St. Lucia in the Caribbean. Nick is confident: "We'll win, as we've got a super crew and great spinnakers." We'll follow them on their way to Australia and naturally keep our fingers crossed for the ARC. To follow the adventure of the "Charm Offensive", visit www.charmoffensive.com.au"

Interesting, isn't it?
