Hello gentlemen,
Iam a happy new 371 owner 😃 and pretty new on this forum, but i have already a question, we bought a new set of b&g nav equipment like: 2x multi display , 9 inch met plotter and a touch panel for the autopilot. What kind of navpod do you suggest ? Please can you own configuration with pro and con’s? For now i think i have two options; 1- put all instruments close to the steering peddestal 2- put the plotter and touchpanel close to the steering panel and bring the two multi panels on the aft cabin side. All suggestions are very welcome 😀i have stil buy the new navpod. |

Hi Jan,
we are also new Hanse 371 owners and our plan is to install the same equipment soon. Can you share how you solved the installation? I am thinking about using the lewmaer pod for the multis and put the plotter on the top. This is not the nicest way but a pod for everything becomes to big.. as per my opinion. Let me know! When we bought our 371 2 years ago it was fitted with a Simrad IS15 speed/depth, wireless wind, Simrad AP24 autopilot and 12" Raymarine C120 plotter - all at the helm in 2 pods. Last winter I upgraded the electronics to NMEA2000 - installing a secondhand-sourced Simrad NSS12 plotter, Raymarine autopilot and DST810 speed/depth. The wireless wind is interfaced to the NMEA2000 backbone with an interface unit from Raymarine.
In addition to this, when cruising in less familiar waters we have an iPad with Navionics mounted under the sprayhood. Mainly because of easier route planning from home, and to give the rest of the crew something to look at. Not the best of pictures, but to give you an idea. The 12" plotter is fairly bulky, but the additional screen size is greatly appreciated. @Florian, our paths will surely cross sometime soon, our homeport is Brouwershaven :-)   |

hi,
i have still not complete the installation, by now i build in the plotter and auto pilot operation station close the the helm and thinking about the multi displays. i like to have the displays on an another location because normally i will project there the boat speed and wind (speed/direction) . For now I am thinking of placing the displays against the cabin next to the entrance, but iam still struggling. i don't like to added close to the helm because when I am steering in the side I have no view of the screens near the steering wheel and the other crew cannot see the speed / wind either. Also when installing an extra navpod it becomes a very collegial whole.

On my previous boat I had a display mounted against the cabin bulkhead, making it very uncomfortable to rest your back on when enjoying the evening sun in port ;-)
A popular position for the speed/depth/etc multi-displays is over the entrance hatch to the cabin, under the sprayhood. There are various suppliers for a mounting "bridge" over the sliding hatch, or you could have something custom made.

Hi, I had the same struggle between options and ended up on this. Screen at pedestal, instrument displays above companionway. Few winter evening and lots of elbow grease needed to install cabling but here we are now. Happy for the result.

We just installed new Navpod and B&G Vulcan 9 to our Alexandra. Very happy with the result. The boat is located in Turku, Finland, so Moi moi vaan Tuomas! :) BTW Tuomas if you could elaborate me how you managed to install the instruments above the companionway I would appreciate! Our kids always want to know the speed and it would save a lot of nerves from me if they could see it by themselves  -Niko
