Hi. Only.my second year with the boat but on inspection all my battens had.broken were they join with the composite part.
No problem replacing that but the end caps or tensioners were also broken.
Can't seem to find them online and not course dealer isn't much help.
Any idea where not buy - have contacted elvstrom but no reply.
See attached for part.

Curious about those battens too, I broke two outer ones, three inner ones are still ok. I guess they break when the sail flaps under strong wind. Mine are 8mm carbon rods from top to bottom, no joints. Let us know if you find the solution. I am personally inclined to get 8mm fiberglass fish tape, fiberglass is softer than carbon, should serve better. Also no need to deal with Elvstrom, Amazon sells those fish tapes 400 feet something rolls for $100.

End caps - very easy diy, buy 8mm aluminum pipe on amazon, cut to the lenght and close one end, there you get them

My battens and end caps are 10mm and couple to a rigid carbon fiber piece that's about 5' long.
Im getting new caps made with ss pipe.
How would fish tape work?  Any pointers to product?
Doesn't the sail need the rigidity of 10mm

Fish tape is a wire puller made of fiberglass, you can check it here
https://a.co/d/08dNbL1G, i think they also have it in 10mm. My carbon battens are 8mm and I am missing one right now, maybe 8m long, hence I was thinking to use fiberglass rod instead. If you broke your 5' carbon batten where did you get the replacement? I can find carbon rods but nobody sells them longer than a meter in lenght, and I need 8m.

The carbon rods are ok.  It's the fiberglass portion that broke 10mm x 47 feet

Ok maybe that wire puller is the solution for you. I tried to connect a few carbon rods 1m each with 8mm aluminum tubing to make a long batten but this one broke right at the connection point after a few sails therefore im thinking it has to be uniform over the whole lenght. Im going to try this 8mm fiberglass rod, at least its cheap, widely available and i can carry the whole 150m roll in the airplane...

Looked a bit more into the wire puller.   Not very rigid so don't think it is appropriate.
Looks like a flexible glass fiber core wrapped with an outer cover.
Need something solid.
