Hi new owner of a 2013 Hanse 415, just taking delivery and waiting for a pen to become available.

Could someone confirm the steps required for correctly connecting shore power.

At present I have the boat connected and the green shore power indicator is lit but the AC indicator above it is not.  Unfortunately battery voltage is registering below 9V so the main switch board is not powering up effectively.

Thanks

Hi Andrew

I'm a fellow FSC member (only crew) and have previously owned a 2015 385 and currently a 2021 458.  I'm interested to know where you bought your 415.  I was looking at one down in Banbury.

Both my Hanse had a green light that shows when shore power is connected.  There is no AC light.  I suspect that the 2013 model might be different.  Can you post a picture of the panel?

If your shore power is connected it should be charging the batteries.  The charger is behind the port settee and you should hear the fan kick in when it's charging.  Probably also some indicator lights too.  Might be worth taking a look at this.  Note that if you have an inverter the panel might be different too.

Unfortunately 9V on your domestic bank is pretty serious so get this sorted, one way or another, quickly.

Please feel free to PM me with your email or WhatsApp and I'll try to help further.

Hi all you 415 owners.  Does this picture look correct with respect to the lighting of only the shore power indicator and not the AC Mains?

thanks

Andrew,

Our 575 has two 240V lights. One for "Shore power" and one for AC 9which in our case stands for Air conditioning. Our boat has two shore power connections - one for the Air cond and one for the other 240V side of the panel. If your boat has air cond and has two shore power inlets that is why the top one is not green. If you have two inlets just put the shore power plug into that inlet and see if the "AC" light comes on green. I don't understand why the volt meter is only at about 50V ac. This should be reading 240ish. Maybe the volt meter is stuffed. Get a multi meter which has a n AC side and check the voltage at the shore power cable. If it is 240ish then the onboard volt meter is stuffed. Check if your inverter/charger is turned on at the front of the actual box. If your inverter/charger is a Victron or Mastervolt you may be able to download their APP and see what the incoming voltage is and and if it is outputting etc. If your batteries are still 9V it is possible the charger will not start charging at that low voltage. See attached image of data from our Victron charger/inverter.

So, I have just installed 2 new house batteries and this has solved my issues.  I thought I would paste the before and after image of the pertinent part of the panel.  Also the 2 AC socket switches now have a power indicator lit!
