Hello forum,
I would like to retrofit a spinnaker on our Hanse 291, because the previous owner didn't have one.
Does anyone know the specifications for this – luff, leech, foot?
The sail surface should be 55m² if I'm correct.

Thank you for your help & kind regards,

Mikel

Hi Mikel,

I think the 291 is very similar to the later 301. As you say the spinnaker is 55m2 according to this document: https://mis.hanseyachtsag.com/website/document/hanse-291-specifications-2021-hanse-291-specifications_-9089153605059220695.pdf

So, assuming a similar mast forestay length of 10.05m the following might help.
When I had my 301 measured for rating theses were the measurments.

Pole length: 3.13m
Leech & Luff: 9.79m
Half width: 5.74m
Foot width: 5.64

This gives an area of around 50m2.

I hope that helps.

Hi,

Thank you very much for the detailed information, it's very helpful.
