Hi isailsmith,
I do not know what you are realy talking about!! Hanse is still using epoxy as a knd of makng boats more stabil and more reliable!! If you are looking to a boat which is build out of carbon, send a request to swan, x-yacht or any other boatbuilder who is producing that stuff!! Best regards and always a hand brite |

Hi,
Very few thoroughbred racing boats, like the TP52, have hulls made out of carbon fibers and epoxy resins. Most mass produced boats including Hanses , X-yachts and Swans may have their masts and booms, wheels ,gang boards or rudders out of carbon-epoxy as an extra. Glass fibers and epoxy offers a 20% weight saving over glass with polyester resin for the same rigidity. The carbon-epoxy combination saves about 50% of the weight (at a huge cost penalty). |
