Hi. Does the 460 have built in galvanized isolation or an isolation transformer to the shore power?
Just hauled out for hurricane season and noticed the zincs are pretty worn on the saildrive and hull. Thanks

I can say that on the larger boats Hanse will fit isolation transformers on USA boats and galvanic isolators on European boats.

My 460 from 2024 got two (one for AC shore power) "ProSafeFS30" galvanic isolators.

Victron isolation transformer is the gold standard.
'Galvanic Isolators' have a very small leakage so not 100% protection.

Even though My Hanse 460 has Galvanic Isolator, a Rigging professional person has said to call an electrician to check it Because he has pointed out that there was some rust in the rigging. Electricians checked and said that the generator must have sepatate batteries. When the generator is using the engine battery while working, it is charging the engine and to the boat. Fisher Panda advising self batteries for generators. What you think aboute this..

That‘s correct.
It‘s also a problem if you have Lithium. I have installed an extra battery for the generator before starting it.

I’m definitely not an electrical expert. (Caution)
That being said, my 458 came with 4 AGM’s - 1 95ah up front for the bow thruster, 2 165ah for the house bank in the salon and one more 95ah under the companionway steps for an engine start battery. I have the one galvanic isolator behind the port cabin for incoming shore power. The engine start battery is hooked to the engine starter and alternator. The house batteries provide power to the generator starter through the high load DC bus under my nav table. The bow battery only is used to operate the bow thruster. The banks are connected this way: Start bank and house bank through battery combiner when either bank is receiving charge voltage. House bank and bow battery through a DC/DC charger which is also a galvanic isolator. It switches on at 13v and will switch off at 12v in the 3 stage charging mode. It passes through 20 amps. I haven’t had any unusual rust or corrosion anywhere. The system as set up works. It needs more batteries for a boat this size, but it works as installed.
