Our 345 has an electric toilet installed by the previous owner, a Jabsco Electric Lite. The toilet instructions are very clear, that the raw water in hose needs to be a vented loop run above the waterline. Looking at the normal Jabsco toilet, the instructions are not surprisingly similar. However, ours is plumbed directly from the inlet seacock to the toilet without a loop, all I think below the waterline. Looking in the Hanse manual, the plumbing diagram implies this is the way it is.
Does anyone have any thoughts on this? It seems that the current plumbing is just relying on the pump to avoid flooding the heads when the seacock is open! Unless I’m missing something?

Our 342 is plumbed without a loop or valve on the inlet, but of course the black water goes up into a holding tank with a vent which is equivalent, and has never leaked. Our previous boat (not a Hanse) was the same, but I plumbed a loop and a vent on the inlets and outlets (had no blackwater tank) even though neither ever leaked (just because I thought it should be vented). The manual pumps do have valves in them (and I guess the electric ones would too) but, I guess if you don't trust them you can shut the seacock. Not sure there's room to plump a loop under the sink anyway. Ironically the sink has leaked when we're healed to port and so has always to be turned off when sailing.
