Hi all. I have purchased a new SD60 to replace my corroded SD50. The Yanmar installation technical bulletin suggests the adaptor plate is only required if the engine bed has insufficient rear depth to accommodate the SD60 base which is 42mm longer than the SD50. It appears that I have the extra depth on my engine bed - see marked area in photo - and therefore I am uncertain whether I need the adaptor plate kit (it is a little over £1k so would rather not spend the money unnecessarily).
Has anyone done this on a 400 and was the adaptor plate necessary? I am not at the boat to confirm whether the bed in the photo is load-bearing but I imagine it must be.
Thanks in advance, Martin
