Rob,

What's a 'kacket'  (Only joking). Anyway, I thought N.Z. was GodZone ??  Was when I was there anyway. Love the place. Where in Oz are you?  Mid-Summer here and average daily temps 15 C. We're out sailing as often as poss anyway.

Weather here just now (Summer !?!?!)

Muscadet,

But I bought my Hanse direct from Griefswald. So, no local agent.

I would consider a second-hand 411 in the future (one which the owner has sorted !) So. if any readers thinking of selling in the future let me know. However, I think I'd prefer the option of the settee instead of pretend armchairs on port side saloon.

May visit the Soton Boat Show this year and talk to Peter. Will he take my 341 as Part Ex?

Must get back to my 'own' (341) part of the forum - sorry for the intrusion here folks.

Franko

Hi Franko

Kiwi's only think they live in GOD's country we Aussies KNOW we live in it.

We have a waterfront home on Pittwater, which is just north of Sydney, the 371 is on a pontoon in front of the house.

It is 15.45hours here and the temperature is 20c with a 8/10k noth east sea breeze and not a cloud in the sky, perfect.

Enjoy your cool weather,

Regards

Rob

I wanted to submit this final post on leaks so that there would be some conclusion for anyone reading my first post. As things worked out- the dealer who did not address my issues properly is no longer a Hanse dealer. We now have a new Hanse dealer in USA Northeast- who knows his stuff. Enough said on that. After some initial communications problems Hanse addressed the problem with great care, expense and expertise. They sent an excellent marine engineer and mechanic - Till to the United States with a full complement of tools and supplies. Till evaluated the problem, hauled the boat, found a few minor non-structural problems, fixed them better than new. The aluminum backing plates that had caused me some concern- though no leaks- were upgraded to stainless and this was done correctly- The keel was removed, the hull was reinforced at the bilge with Eglass for extra rigidity and the allignment was confirmed with laser levels.... The boat has been perfect ever since. All in all a first rate job. I would add that it is likely that the boat would have been fine without all that work- but the original backing plates were not up to specs, Hanse made good on this.
