Hello,

I am currently sailing in Kroatia on a chartered 505. it has 2 water tanks each 350 liters which I filled up when we started. Now we are Running Short, the second still is in 95% according to the panel, but I don't find a switch to switch between the 2 tanks.

Can anybody help me and give me a hint?

Thank you.

Each tank has an independent shut off valve.

The forward tank, under the berth in the forward cabin, has a valve on the port side that can be found under a square panel on the floor near the closet, on the upper part of the floor near the berth. This is the larger of the two tanks. A suction cup might be needed to lift this little square floor panel.

The smaller tank is under the settee on the starboard side. You'll find the tank if you lift up the cushion under the window on the starboard side by the table, outboard. The valve is under the forward cushion right by the bulkhead forward. It might be tucked under an AC vent but you'll find it by following the outlet hose from the tank. This tank is substantially smaller than the one forward.

Kipwrite,

Thank you,
Your 505 and mine seem to be different somewhat, as we don't have the second tank at port but underneath th saloon, somindeed much lower than the first one. I was anxious, as the meters differed, that the 2 tanks were not permanently connected, but indeed after the didn't tank got empty the pump simply draws from the lower tank, so everything is fine now, we still have water.

All the best

Ralph
