We just purchased a Raymarine C90W GPS to install on our 2008 350. We are wondering what GPS "pod" solutions or other mounting solutions have been used to mount the GPS on the pedestal. We have been advised that the Raymarine pods (and various other brands) won't work on our pedestal due to the width between the pedestal bars (which appears to not be the same as the north american standard).
Similarly, we are having trouble finding a cockpit table that the will work with our pedestal (which is Lewmar and which you might think would be standard!). We have tried three different kind and brands of cockpit tables and so far none work (we are looking for a table that folds flat against the pedestal when not in use). Wondering what others have done.
Thanks!

I have a Raymarine C80 attached to a pod which fitted my 350 perfectly. I also have a fibreglass cockpit table delivered with the boat which fits neatly onto the pedestal. The pod is a NAVCOM (www.navcom.com).

Evenstar,
I suppose you have the standard Jefa pedestal used in Hanses 320, 350, 370, and 400. Here is a link to a previous discussion about it with some solutions that may be useful. http://www.myhanse.com/forum_posts.asp?TID=1664 As much as I know, there are two commonly used standards for the guardrail: 9.5” or 12”, and Jefa uses the 12” (305 mm). Here is a link to Jefa: http://www.jefa.com/News/hanse-rp150/hanse.htm When we started to plan our system, we decided to use Raymarine instruments: a C80 plotter, autopilot control, and a ST60+ tridata in the steering unit for the helmsman, and separate ST60+ wind, depth, and speed installed over the companionway so that everyone can see them. I used the Jefa Radar-EP8 –pod at the pedestal. I changed the pedestal head for a smaller version and the guardrail for the extended one. The EP8 is a little too narrow for our system, so I had to make some modifications to its interior. The result looks like this: ![]() We are quite satisfied with it. Although we have the big 1 400 mm wheel instead of the standard 1 200 mm, it is still possible to handle the AP control over the wheel. |

This is the way we have in our 350.
The pod on the pedestal comes from Jefa Steering and the NX-40 is on the starboard side, just behind the winch
