Has anybody gone through an engine removal and reinstallation on their 371?
Our 2005 3-cabin has the Yanmar 3YM installed, I will be taking the saildrive out coming winter for diaphragm replacement, oil seals and paint job.
While the engine is off it’s bed, I was thinking to take it out of the boat completely. It works fine, but would give the opportunity for a really good clean up of the engine bay and paint touch up of the engine itself. I had a leaking exhaust elbow which has caused some components to become somewhat rusty.

How easy is it to lift the engine out? The boat will be coming out onto the hard, should I consider taking the engine out while afloat so I can use the boom and a halyard (the mast is coming off)? All tips are welcome!

Or….should I leave it where it is, touch up what I can, and get on with the long list of other jobs I had planned for the winter layup?
