Length / diameter running rigging

   We bought a Hanse 371 last year. It presumably has the original running rigging, with a lot of 14 mm (?) ropes that are difficult to handle. Therefore we want to renew the rigging step by step. I tried to find standard lengths and diameter (Dyneema) for the Hanse 371 running rigging, but couldn't. Surely this topic has been mentioned before, but I can't find it anywhere in this forum. 
Is there anybody out there who could help? Thanks in advance, Michael (Aarhus, Denmark)

	Michael - in the absence of any exact reply, you might try mousing the existing lines with thinner line, pulling the rigging through and measuring it directly. However, as guide, these are the figures I used for my H400. Although the mast on the 400 is 2m higher from the waterline, the I measurement (mast step to forestay attachment) is 1,5m so you can adjust accordingly. I changed the halyards to dyneema to reduce stretch, not diameter as too small a diameter brings troubles of its own. Hope this is helpful. Edited by Ratbasher - 15 May 2023 at 16:18

	I replaced the spinnaker halyard on our 371 a few weeks ago with 36 metres of 12mm line, to give you some reference. When not in use we clip the end of the line to the toerail at the midship freeing port. At 36 metres this leaves you with about 1 metre of free line at the stopper under the sprayhood. As this is only "just" enough, I would advise buying a couple of metres longer so that you have some spare length to cut off if there is wear at the masthead. We don't use the gennaker much, and only in light weather (no racing), so I went for the cheaper high-modulus polyethylene instead of dyneema.
