Specific to 34x...
Trying to figure out where to put holders for winch handle. Obvious place in helm space but on stb side is where engine controls are, so that area is a no go. In front of helm means that I can't reach them easily, and where I could would be in the way of guests legs. Was thinking if I could mount on the table support, most winch holders are meant to be screwed into something flat. Where have others put them?

My dealer fitted mine (per my instructions) on the vertical wall of the cockpit seats which is aft of the lifting cockpit locker lids and forward of the Jefa steering casing. It is a snug fit and I stow the handles with the grips facing aft so they tuck behind the Jefa casing.
I'll try to photograph on next visit to the boat - was there yesterday - but very happy with the location and no issues with crew legs or access.

I checked a 345 berthed near me and it appears to have an identical arrangement to to my 415.
I have my winch handle pockets mounted, with Velcro, on the forward face of each steering pedestal. Sorry I don't have a photo, but they are directly behind Those in CrocDundee's photo. In this position, I find that they are convenient to both the helmsman and crew sitting the cockpit. |
