Didn't order this from the factory and now realize I should have...but looking to add a gennaker/screecher furling sail, not a spinnaker.
I am not at my boat for 2 weeks, so some of these questions might seem silly 1. Is there a sheeve at the mast for this, or do I have to add a block to the mast? 2. I think there is space to put a turning block at the base of the mast, but don't have space on my spinlocks? I have the furling main, according to the manual my port side should be 1. spin halyard, 2. jib halyard, 3. outhaul, 4. mainsheet., 5. vang. What I have is 1. jib halyard, 2. topping lift, 3. outhaul, 4. mainsheet, 5 vang. If you have what the manual says, not sure where the topping lift goes to? Or since I have the topping lift coming back, where does the spin halyard go? What have others done?

Both my boats were rigged for spinnaker during commissioning and the topping lift is not brought back to the cockpit. We adjust it on the mast. We barely used it on the 385 as we just put the main halyard onto the end of the boom when finished sailing.
With the 458 we have a full Bimini, and with current Med temperature this is rarely closed so we can't get to the end of the boom This means a trip to the mast to tie off the topping lift to keep the boom above the Bimini when we stop sailing. You need to check your mast specifications to find out how high the sheave for the spinnaker and go. It will be different for a code zero and a MPS. I think that for this reason you'll find there is no standard sheave installed, but can't be sure. Do check your own rig. The 385 spec shows a masthead spinnaker which I guess is from the spars used early on. Hanse used Sparcraft and Z-Spars before switching to Selden around 2015. If I'd gone with the Hanse official spec, I'd have ended up with a spinnaker almost 2 meters too long for the sheave position I actually had.

I asked Wendel&Rados at Griefswald to install me the spinnaker halyard after the boat was built, the block needs to be added at top of the mast. The topping lift went to the mast base, so I got spinnaker and jib halyards, main, outhaul, b.vang at port. Also furling main is in my boat. Cheers!

Hi, on Night Train, we had a factory fitted gennaker halyard on a Selden mast. Just below the top sheave, there is an eye or furlead that takes the horizontal load from the gennaker, without this there would be considerable side load on the sheave and the risk of chafing the halyard on the side of the sheave.
We also terminate the topping lift at the mast All the best Paul
