In addition to the various techniques outlined here to try to stop the slipping, there is a method of closing the cam that will help with minimizing slip.
Have the rope clutch open, tighten the halyard on the winch, start to close the rope clutch but don't fully close it, push down on the cam with a finger or thumb as you release the halyard off the winch, now close the last part of the clutch lever....

I have used Spinlock rp25 on the main halyard and that stopped the slippage. I think it's a good product and performs well.

OK, I give up.... why does the jib halyard go into the jammer white/red, and come out black?!?
And what's the little white string joy-riding in the top of the same jammer? |

I have had a sleve put over the halyard to bring it up to 14mm. A good rope rigger can organise that and mine has not slipped with ordinary jammers as supplied.

That's true!
 I use the same method when tightening the mainsail halyard, 8mm dyneema, and putting reefs. |
