Hallo ans Forum. Vielen Dank Rolf I have a question about the fresh water sensor. Can someone give me some data on the sensor installed? I would like to connect the tank sensor to my Victron Cerbo SX. The input of the Cerbo is 2-pole but 5 wires are connected to the sensor. Is there a conversion kit or converter for this or does anyone know how the sensor is connected? Thank you very much Rolf |

Since you appear to be very keen on monitoring items accurately, to me it seems odd that you are thinking of relying on the notorious unreliable, inaccurate, 4 rods in the water tank system. Many people have switched the sensor.
You can get more ideas my putting in "water tank sensor", "any forums" any date" into the advanced search function.

Thank you Martin & Rene.
Unfortunately, the search function does not work for me. Hence my question to the other members. We have now connected the standard diesel tank sensor to a Victron Cerbo-CX instead of the WE-Panel. This works very well. Now we would like to replace the water tank sensor. The built-in sensor with a 5-wire cable does not fit. We would therefore like to replace it with a Philippi TGW sensor. Can anyone tell me the sensor length or the water tank depth for a Hanse 385? |

Hallo Rolli,

Hi Rolf,
the flange for the Philippi sensor did not fit into the recess with the thread for the crappy Hanse sensor. As it was watertight I did just leave it in. For me it was easier to make a new hole for the flange. Installation was completed within 30 minutes. Not that I reused two wires of the old cable for the connection to the Würth panel. You can make a new stainless flange for the sensor, but you have only a very small surface to get the flange watertight. I also installed a Philippi tank monitor for fuel ( also replaced the cheapo unreliable Hanse tank sensor), freshwater, greywater and an ultrasonic sensor for the blackwater. |

Thank you very much Frank. As soon as I know the exact tank depth for our 385, I will do the installation as you did. Rolf

Hi all,
Upon our return from a regular Saturday sail there was a flashing red light on the main panel and a message fresh water 25% which was a reasonable reflection of the water volume in the tank. I have added fresh water to the tank and now the readout indicates 0% and the red light still flashes. What could be the cause and what advice/ help can anyone give. Our boat FULL TILT is a 385 built 2016 regards Martin & Rena
