   Hi!

We use the same line for 1st and 3rd reef (obviously, we had to change the line to a longer one). We sail most of the time with 2nd and 3rd reefs ready. We strongly believe in : "two reefs or not to reef".

Leech: low friction ring + snap shackle attached to a dyneema loop going through the eyelet.

Luff: low friction ring + snap shackle attached to the webbings going trough the eyelet

To move the line from 3rd to 1st: open the shackles and move them the the 1st reefs points - if ever you want to do that :-)

We never noticed any issue in having the 3rd reef line on while the sail is fully up, friction ring are much lighter than blocks.
