Hello my Hanse-Members!

New owner of a 2009 Hanse 350 here - this is my first post - so please be patient with me :-)

Our Hanse 350 came without an anchor windlass. We would like to install an electric windlass now.

The question now is:

Which windlass did Hanse choose as standard in 2009 (and should I stick to that or are there better alternatives?)

I´m especially interested in your experience with good chain-management. (Read a few complaints for other boats with piling chain mountains ...)

Also the installation for an electric windlass seems to be already prepared for in the anchor-locker. I can see/feel holes beneath the gelcoat of the windlass-platform. So I suppose these fit for a specific windlass? Also there seems to be an electric cable in a pipe leading from the aft to the anchor locker ...?

Thank you so much in advance for your help!

Lewmar Pro series 1000 (the one fitted by myself on my Hanse 355) ; same as original factory install.
I found no cable piping for the windlass Cry
Chain management is a pain Cry you have to guide the chain with hand to stop it piling each metre or so.  I'm now get used to.  It's not a real issue for me as I use windlass average 10 times a year.+
Some says that if you use a stainless steel chain (shiny so more slipery) instead of a galvanised one this improve chain management and prevent (a bit) chain piling.

Hi Bruno,

thanks a lot for you reply - I will have a look at the Lewmar and stainless steel chains as well.

Cheers
