Hello Hanse-Owners,
I will have to do a minimal repair at my keel-hull-joint on my Hanse 350. The seal at the joint is damaged on a small area and only on the surface. Does anybody know which sealant hanse used for the keel-hull-joint? Was it Sikaflex 292i? Thank you for your help! Cheers Robban

Robban,
The best Sika to use is 295UV - which is supposed to be UV stabilized. 291i is not suitable for direct sunlight applications. There are probably better sealants to use but I don't know which is best and lasts longest. 295UV should be easy to find in any reasonable chandler. Make sure you buy White as it comes on black and white.

thanks a lot for your comment! Do you happen to know which Sika Hanse originally used? I would like to use the same - so I donīt run into any incompatibility-issues between the old and the new sealant. Cheers Robban

Robban,
We had our joint replaced under warranty by our dealer and they used Sika 295UV. A friend with a 505 had their dealer (Norwegian) supply the sealant so he could do it himself and was supplied Sika 295UV. Sika 291i and 295UV are compatible anyway. You could always ask you dealer to confirm what was used but 99% sure it would be Sika 295UV.
