I wish to add my voice to previous lightening strike posts over the past several years. We suffered one about 3 weeks go while we we away, which I identified by virtue of the Glomex VHF antenna lying on the deck next to the weather vane. I am waiting for a surveyor to formally assess the boat but suffice it to say there is no power. I changed the engine battery already. And the 4 batteries that comprise the service and distribution battery bank are all putting out only 6.5 V with 0 capacity and therefore unable to charge, so they will need to be replaced. I have yet to check the batteries for the bow thruster and Stern thruster. The Combi master, does work and does register an AC input and transformer "green light" when shore power is connected. I previously left the boat with the service and distribution battery bank isolated. I installed a new engine battery but was still unable to start the engine even with good voltage, as the alarm at the helm was still engaged and I could not disengage it with the key fob. So I'm looking for a solution for that. But the 12 V panel is dark and not working; the VHF worked briefly when I tried to charge the batteries, as did the Sentinel passive monitoring system. But then when the battery voltage on the service and distribution battery bank dropped below 6 V down to 5 V, these stopped working. The bilge still displays a green operating light. The floor lockers, especially in the forward master cabin, contained about 30 gallons of fresh water which I emptied out over time with a bucket. I suspect this may have come from the internal water supply as it is in that forward cabin, but now those forward lockers are dry and the sea cocks do not show any leaks anywhere else in the boat, including the ones for the air conditioning.
I appreciate the previous posts on this matter. And obviously with a high insurance deductible, that I keep, much of these costs will be out-of-pocket. I will point out that in a previous post for a Hanse 418 there was a mention of a green bonding wire going down to the rudder which I did not see when the boat was pulled out over a year ago for a fresh coat of paint, I will keep you posted as to the situation after a surveyor makes a formal analysis.

Just a quick update on the Lightning strike situation. I had a diver check out the hull with no issues... still scratching my head wondering how 30 gallons of freshwater got into the floor lockers in the forward cabut as there is no apparent leak and they are dry now. I had a surveyor come by with an estimate of $31000 to basically replace the 4 AGM batteries in the salon and electronic control units for both of volvo engine and the Fischer panda generator.
We'll keep you posted.

incredible, thanks for the reporting...i can't think of anything else for the water leak different from arching between the water (good conductor) and some metallic parts nearby (the water tank support?)....did you try refilling the tank? does it hold the water now? curious also that all pumps stood, and that the service batteries were "disconnected" but damaged... good luck!

There are several reports on the forum of water from the bow water tank leaking into the bow area from the front tank inspection hatch seal. We had water in the bow area from this. We now never fully fill the bow tank if offshore as takes it takes a pounding and have siliconed the seal, both of which have resolved the issue. Not sure this would count for 30 gallons but over time unnoticed might add up?
Best wishes for the resolution to this and your lightning strike.
