Hi,
I just bought a used Hanse 350 2008/9 model. It was buildt in 2008, but sold in 2009, so not sure what that makes it? Anyway, I live in my boat and done it for 1 month now. The most annoying part is when I shower (shower is in the front of the boat) the water goes the wrong way. Will try to explain abit better :) The whole boat seems to be abit heaver on the front, so when I shower the water goes from the back of my bathroom (where the shower and drain is) and straight to other end of the bathroom. Resulting easy 2-3 cm with water on the floor before anything goes up to the drain. This results in water sometimes on the floor in the cabin in the front and main living room. (new to boats, so please be kind) Allso it is a pain to get the water away, had to buy a tool you use to wash windows with to try to get all the water from one side of the bathroom to the other. Beside the bathroom is small for a guy like me at 1,90cm, but taking a shower is like 20 min for me. 5-7min showering, the rest of the time cleaning the water up. Anyone had this problem and how can I fix it? Allso, the big steering wheel or whatever its called in english of my boat is freakin big and heard you could buy a new one you can pack together so it dont take up so much space when you aint using it? Sorry for long post, abit tired and just had shower :)

In my 320 the water goes at the wrong direction too. I got water in the salon. I am going to do a new draining hole at the "right place" this winter.

Are you keeping the old draining hole Henrik?
How do you plan on doing this? Cutting up the floor and everything? Somebody else has suggesting getting some ballast in the back of the boat, but not sure how that could work out? Allso building the floor up so the water goes the right way, but that I think wont work due to there aint too much height to work with.

I will make a new hole and make a T-connection under the floor. I will plug the old drainopening with the plug that comes with the boat. To make the T-connection you can use both draining if you like to.

Okay, sounds like a plan.
But if I was going to do this, how do I get under the floor? The whole bathroom looks like its 1 big item with very little ways to get under the walls/floor and stuff.

I do not use the boat shower ( no jokes about B O please!!) but my 311 does have a problem with the outlet being in the wrong place.
I have cut the pump hose just before the pump & inserted a hose lock fitting. I have another hose with a hoselock fitting which is long enough to reach the cabin bilge plus the area under the engine
If I have water collecting I just swop the hoses round & use the shower pump to hoover up any puddles.
Being a small hose it will clear much shallower puddles than the main pump plus I can move it about to where it is most effective
So the point of all this is that if you fitted a "T" piece in the pump hose with a stop valve you could use the hose to suck up some of the water that does not go down the drain
This saves cutting the shower tray or any major surgery & does give an additional water remover for other parts of the boat. It will not get everything though. As a stop gap measure you could find a piece of hose that fits inside the outlet fairly tightly. Just poke it in then bend it round & it may suck some of the water out provided you can get a good seal at the waste.
Why Hanse have not sorted this after all these years is beyond imagination
On the other point made above:-
Personally I think my boat sails better if the bow is down initially. Once crew etc get aboard I soon find she is dragging her stern & goes slower as a result. The design does mean gear gets loaded to the stern & I am not convinced that is a good thing after a certain point Edited by samuel - 30 September 2013 at 08:04 |
