   Hi Vertigo,

I like your "low"-line design of tent and especially the idea to use winches as base to the support. How is your main sheet, does it go through the tent and is it waterproof from this point?

	Hi Heikki, I added a solid snap shackle to the main sheet connecting to the boom, this way I can easily take off the main sheet and strap the boom to port or starboard side (with a small extra rope). You will need to remember which side you moved the boom to when exiting the tent . Overall very happy with the solution. Best wishes & happy sailing to all for 2018!

	Whilst the idea of using the winches as base supports may initially seem a good idea, it does have a disadvantage. You will have to take the support bars off when you are sailing and then take them downstairs and find somewhere to store them. We have a fairly simple cockpit tent, which we can erect very quickly when we see a shower approaching. We leave the bars permanently set up, even though they have quick release fittings, and just fold them back against the backstay. 	Hi Martin, I agree you have to take them down but these are 4 pieces to easily put into one storage bag. It ends up in our port cabin, and is no problem there. We don't install the tent often, mainly when it is getting too cold early in season when on anchorage / in guest harbor so maybe 10-12 afternoons/nights a season vs 50 sailing days and when we leave Vertigo in our home port. I would certainly don't like to have support bars installed all the time. At our open transom this really does not fit in my view but understand why you are having it -question on preferences and on the 341 certainly better than on the 375/400 ! The installation of your tent is same as on ours. Best Adrian

	Nothing to add; just wanted to say how much we love your "Cockpit tent"! We'll definitely keep these photos handy just in case we need to replace our current set-up, which is not a full enclosure like yours. regards,

	Vertigo You are right, we all have different sailing patterns. We will put our tent up and take it off around 50 times a year, so hence why we minimise the amount of work we do. Basically, the only time we do not put it up is if we have to have an early morning start to catch the tide. Our cockpit tent bars are actually hinged in the centre, so they come off in one piece and then fold. It may be neat, but in fact your solution of having it split into separate parts, may make it easier to handle.

	This is what we had made up last year; £2700 from Tecsew fitted onto the existing sprayhood. Although we've a different transom it would be simple to extend the rear flap to cover the gap. On ours we have an infill for the 'suicide hole' which goes in at sea. Although it's easily de-rigged, we leave the tent on the bars the whole time and putting it up or down takes one person barely a few minutes with practice. Makes a heck of a difference alongside in a English summer! Hope this is helpful!

	Hi Adrian on Vertigo, I like your tent design. I came to the conclusion that a hoop using the winches was the way to go too and the least holes in the deck :-) Where did you find the stainless steel star fittings to go into the winches? i've only found plastic ones so far (though they are pretty tough). Any clues would be welcome as I'm clearly not finding the right search terms. thanks Mark
