Giz, take a look on the 43 that's featured in St. Pete on Yachtworld.com
I've been on the boat and the dodger and Bimini are intergrated but can be used seperately.

I would like to ask you afew questions since I'm very interested in the Hanse 43'.

What do you NOT like about the boat?
What are the sailing characteristics as to the upwind performance?
What features would you add if you decided to revise?
Is the hydrolic backstay provide and benefit for upwind work?

Hi, we took delivery of our 430e 3 months ago so here is some feedback.  It sails very well. sheeted in light winds we get very very close on stb, slightly not so close on port but this could be miss alignment of the transponder. I fiddle with the sails but I am not by any means an expert and haven't touched the backstay adjustment yet, but will probably do so when more competent friends visit in 3 weeks time. WE have had 9kts on a beat with 17knts wind and 1 reef in the main, and over 10 with a crusing shute at around 12knts wind, though I think 13 is about the limit for that sail.
The shower filters are a joke, a jabsco issue, not hanse, but something I will have to fix. We have a full suit of Simrad but really suffer from lack of knowledge of the system and lack of "integration" information. Gradually we are getting to grips with it, but at the moment we don't know if there is are some faults, or if there is something we are missing.

No problem with the open stern. I have netted all around as we have an inquisitive 2 year old. I am looking to retro fit a bow thruster. I think it is probably essential, especially in Croatian marinas where we moor. Overall we are really pleased, it sails very well and the self tacking jib and main take a lot of the pain away, especially when short handed or with novice guests.
