In my case its EU delivery, but the hatches are to be replaced by the factory.

Hi Angorsan,

Thank you for the information. What was wrong with the hatches?

Cheers J

Well.
Even though the hull (and deck, I believe) is machine processed, there is still a lot of manual labor around the boat overall.
Quite some room for human error (wrong epoxy mixture, handles screwed on too soon, you name it).
It is strange that it was not noticed during quality inspections.
But, on the other hand - I noticed it myself by accident, to be honest.Wink
Hanse confirmed this to be the manufacturing defect and will replace them under warranty. Just takes a bit too long, I would say.
I have waited for 18 months for the boat since the order was placed LOL

But hey, there were only two claims made to the factory, so the overall quality is great.

(The other one was some issue with control buttons - claimed by the dealer before handover - this was replaced promptly.)

This sounds really good that you have only two reported issues. What hull number is your boat?

Hi Angorsan,

Thanks for the extra info. It’s quite astonishing that neither Hanse  nor your broker picked up on what looks like a fairly obvious defect. Lucky you spotted it.

For me this is just another confirmation that for any brand-new Yacht a Marine survey should be conducted prior to handover.

Cheers

Perhaps you are correct, the survey would help to get out all possible defects, since surveyor would look into places you would never had even an idea about LOL

On the other hand - we sailed the boat with one of my friends, who is involved with motor yachts handover and delivery. His words:
"You have so few items to fix!
I have seen boats that cost 10 times of yours and the defect lists 10 times longer."

After all - some people say you should not buy a car that was produced on Friday or on Monday, if you know what I mean LOL
