This seems like a simple question, but I am unable to find the distance from the waterline to the depthsounder at the bottom of the hull on any of the manuals or specifications for the 2022 Hanse 348. Does anyone know?
Thank you, Al

Dear Sir
I use to set the distance from the keel to bottom But the offset you look for is about 40cm +~- 10cm At least I definitely want a good safety margin as depending on bottom surface at the water, you could get a margin of wrong measurement that are about that are the same And measured depth on charts are not that exact If I mooring in the archipelago I keep at least 30cm distance from keels to the rocks, probably more to ensure if a boat passes to not hit bottom Hopefully this helps regards jonas |

Al - in the absence of anyone who can give you a definitive answer you might care to check out: Depth sounder offset - myHanse - Hanse Yachts Owners Forum
This shows a Hanse 342 having an offset of approx 50cm; perhaps you could compare the specifications between that model and yours as a guide. Mine is set to read the depth from the waterline to help me navigate.

Thank you gentlemen,
I have a hand held depthsounder and I will also measure depth from the waterline with a lead plumb and let you know what I find on the 348. Best, Al

Ah, good discussion. I never checked to see how it was setup on my new 348. I have the shallow keel, 5.5' but am conservative as well, I would rather it tell me it is 6' when I have 7'.
I also set the colors on my chartplotter to be red below 8' and orange <10 > 8. LMK what you find out. My boat is hauled, I should be able to get an approximate measurement.

I have used 30cm on both 385 and 458. On my 385 I adjusted depth to show actual water depth. On the 458 I have set it to show depth below keel.
My mental arithmetic could handle the 2.0m adjustment on the 385 but not the fraction 2.25m on the 458!
