Hi all,
Just some pictures of a new Hanse 350 R. Lighter interieur, 1,50 meter more mast and deeper keel etc..... It's a proptotype. Do not know whether it will come in to production, Guess it depends on the interest...... /Steen ![]() ![]() ![]() Edited by Abstinenz - 03 May 2009 at 19:44 |

Steen,
Could be interesting, where did you hear about it and get the pictures? I wonder if they've made any attempt to make it lighter?

Hi Rubato.
It's in the interieur the most weight optimatization has been done. Instead of the standard wood/plywood the yard has used foam with "wood-wanna-be laminat" though the interieur looks like standard. The tanks are smaller and so is the engine (15hp). I have no idea about the displacement, yet. Before the financial crise struck the market I was in dialogue with the local dealer about a Hanse 350 with more "go-faster-goodies" taken from my experince from the 342 - which I really love for family cruising and the weekly club regattas, but believe as for the 350, it has a too small main sail and jib, too little weight in the keel for real regatta purpose and if it was within the economical reasonable it should have a little narrower frontship/bow, which could give better tacking angels - but then you need to produce another hull. Nothing comes free, so to keep the comfort at a family level and to gain a economical issue from excisting production, it seems the 350R is a fair compromize. I understand that the proto type will participate in some regattas in the Netherlands and we will see how she perform. The pictures was sent to me from the local Hanse dealer.

Very interesseting boat, does anyone know more about the plans for this boat? It seems to work very good according to the results in the frist regattas it has participated in...
e.g:
I am curios about this boat now when Hanse has bought Dehler, maybe this project was started before they bought Dehler... Or maybe there are room for "Hanse Race" boats in the line, I guess it will be a lot cheeper than Dehler anyway...
