thanks dose anyone know if when the red light is on next to the ac selector it means there is reverse polarity or dose it have to be flashing ??

What is the AC selector? If u mean the device that connects the house battery bank to the charging system, it means a fault was detected. It can be cleared.

Andy, when the red light is on this means that the live L and N wires are crosschanged. On rare occasions you find this when the landside installation was done by amateurs or other volunteers. I am still not sure if it has really an effect on the charger electronics. It will have an effect on the fault current detection. I have a polarity changer cable where L and N are deliberately crosswired between male and female plug.

Andy,
Giday. I gather you are referring to the "Shore Power Common" light which glows green when all is well, shows solid red when the shore power polarity is wrong and can flash red when there is a shore power fault sensed. Sometimes the flashing will start and then the light goes back to Green. I think this indicates either low or high shore power voltage, or high or low shore power hertz. So if the shore power is not within a suitable range for voltage or hertz the light flashes red but when the shore power returns to a suitable range the light returns to Green. The shore power voltage and or hertz may change due to varying loads on the shore power system at the time. I Hope Hanse Sailor is working out for you -apart from your boom problem.
